Do you love to sing? Worship the Lord through your musical gifts!

Our Adult Choir enhances traditional worship services from September through May with uplifting renditions of standard hymns and modern choral arrangements. The choir welcomes men and women of all talents, beginners and experienced, high school age and above, to join at any time.

The Adult Choir rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings  from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, September to May, and sings Sundays at the 9:00 am service.

Julia Hartman

GSLC Choir Director

Julia Hartman received her Bachelor’s in Music Education with a vocal emphasis from Millikin University. While teaching, she received her Master’s in Music Education with a technology emphasis from Illinois State University. After teaching elementary and middle school choir, band, and general music for 11 years she joined the University of Illinois in 2017 as an internship coordinator. Julia enjoys working with college students and helping them achieve their internship and college goals. Julia joined Good Shepherd as the adult choir director in 2019. After spending most of 2020 and 2021 not singing inside, she is very excited about growing the choir and creating more fellowship opportunities with music. She lives in Urbana with her family which includes her 2 sons and dog. She can frequently be found playing music at the Rose Bowl Tavern and enjoys working out in her free time.
